Dillard, Arnold Obtain DeKalb County Approval for Hotel

G. Douglas Dillard1Jill Arnold1Doug Dillard and Jill Arnold successfully obtained the DeKalb County Board of County Commissioners’ approval of a Special Land Use Permit. The approval allows PFT’s client to move forward with plans for a new hotel on North Decatur Road across from DeKalb Medical Center. This development will fill a shortage of hotels for travelers to the Decatur area.  Congratulations to Doug and Jill for being a part of the development team for this project. Partner Christian Torgrimson spoke on a panel of women attorneys at the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL) 2017 CLE event, The Leader Within Seminar on Feb. 14 in Atlanta. Torgrimson joined Cristina Leon, Alicia Graham Jones, Karyl Davis and Lisa Simpson Hoover to discuss factors impacting the underrepresented leadership roles for women in law — and how to bring change. GAWL helped sponsor the study, which has measured and documented the issues affecting women lawyers in the Atlanta community. GAWL plans to publish the results of the study soon. NominationsCall for Nominations is open for the 40th Annual Atlanta Urban Design Commission’s “2017 Awards of Excellence” & 1st Annual “Community Design Award”


PFT is excited to help spread the word about the call for nominations from the Atlanta Urban Design Commission (UDC) and the City of Atlanta for the Awards of Excellence and Community Design Award. Consider nominating people and/or projects for the:

  • Awards of Excellence (nominate by March 6).The Awards of Excellence honors projects, programs, individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed toward the enhancement of the City of Atlanta’s built environment, the preservation of our physical heritage, and the sympathetic balance between the old and the new.
  • (New) Community Design Award (nominate by March 1). The inaugural Community Design Award honors buildings, public spaces, events, art, organizations, etc. that make our community a better place to live.


Nominations are free and open to everyone in Atlanta.
