Pursley Friese Torgrimson’s eminent domain practice includes nationally recognized attorneys Charles Pursley Jr., who wrote the inaugural edition of Georgia Eminent Domain, and Christian F. Torgrimson, who currently serves as the Georgia editor of Law and Procedure of Eminent Domain in the Fifty States. Under Georgia eminent domain laws, all private property and any interest in that property are subject to condemnation for a public purpose by state, county, and local governments. Pursley Friese Torgrimson is experienced in structuring, negotiating, and auditing leases and related documents (e.g. amendments, SNDAs, work letters, subleases) across a variety of product types (e.g. industrial, retail, office leases), financial structures (e.g. modified gross, gross, triple net), jurisdictions (28 states from Georgia to Hawaii) and varying client types and sizes (e.g. Fortune 100 companies, individuals, small businesses).
We also handle dispossessories, evictions, and lease collections, as well as listing and other brokerage agreements. We usually do not need to litigate leases that we’ve drafted and negotiated. However, we’re prepared to litigate on behalf of our clients to recover possession of their properties or collect sums from defaulting tenants. In 2012, our attorneys resolved, through legal action, approximately 250 separate lease disputes, representing lenders and owners of distressed properties in evictions, suit for rent, and contract negotiation.
